This is a short writing to accompany my artwork, Only Equal, painted in 2018 as a part of a small collection of monochromatic paintings and photos. Hope you enjoy.

Are we only equal?

We definitely don’t all have the same gifts, skills, money, resources.
That’s not equal.

We are all God-images though.
So we are equally valuable.

But if we’re only equal, then we aren’t human anymore.
Individuality and uniqueness of identity are removed.
Equality doesn’t stand alone.

We’re not just living stones that make up a building, but also unique parts that play different roles like parts of a human body. Organic and ordered.

We need you. The you designed with value by the King. The you who is different than me. The you who is a part of me.

Equal and not equal. All valuable and unique.

You can have a different opinion than me. And it’s not always right or wrong. There are usually more than two opinions.

Don’t get me wrong, I still believe in right and wrong. Most people have some idea of “justice”. I think it’s built in.

So I strive for equal value of humanity in my living and speaking. And I will give unequal time to my wife and children over my Facebook “friends” :)

I think you’re more valuable than a gray and green block. You’re a specific soul made with purpose by a better Artist than me.
